It's wild transitioning from a very traditional office building to an energizing fitness facility...
...it feels dang fangily good.
I started Agile Bodywork because I strongly believe my calling is to help people re-acclimate themselves with that capable, strong, and empowered feeling. There is nothing more energizing than hearing things like...
- "I could raise my arms and shampoo my hair without pain!"
- "I was able to deadlift 20 more pounds free of lower back pain!"
- "I chased the kids for 4 days at Disney pain free!"
- "I placed 1st in my age group!" (after not being able to run more than 10K for months prior to treatment)
...and I'm grateful for the ability and opportunity to support these amazing humans in their wellness journeys. Can't wait to play a part in YOUR story!
So... what does this have to do with the new location? Buckle up, Buttercup!
As a former corporate IT desk-jockey, I know for a fact that it's rare to find healing at a 9-5. Looking back, I question why was I investing so much time and effort into making a conventional office suite a place for Agile clients to pursue their wellness goals. It all seems so counterintuitive... like 2 decades of meetings that could have been emails taught me nothing.
Growth happens when you step outside of your comfort zone. Abs are also made in the kitchen.... but I digress.
Yesterday I had an awesome professional on my table who has been battling back pain for far too long. He cracked the joke I feel we all do at a certain age... "is this just what 30 feels like???"
Truth is, many of us cannot use aging as an excuse to accept pain as the "new normal." We know this in our heart and I hear us all "should" ourselves a lot...
- "I should workout more."
- "I should stretch/yoga."
- "I should eat better."
- "I should quit xyz."
...and we KNOW if we consistently care for ourselves, we will be repaid with higher vibes and a sense of wellbeing... but HOW do we find that magic place where we can nurture that consistency?
We build it. That's how we "find the magic place." We build it brick by brick and insulate it with all of the supports and systems that nurture the change(s) we wish to see in ourselves.
I genuinely want to be one of those supports for you. I want to see you succeed and achieve the things you set out to do.
This is why I moved my little medical massage clinic. It's hypocritical to build my proverbial "magic place" for healing in a similar office space setting that broke many of us in the first place with repetitive use disorders (hello, carpal tunnel!), emotional or systemic burnout, corporate trauma, and/or feelings of existing in a chronically misaligned environment.
My gratitude goes out to all of you, especially the staff at TLD Fitness, for supporting this transition and giving me grace as I find my footing in the new space!!
